IMPORTANT Points of JEE-Main 2013 Exam:
1. JEE-Main Exam Date: 7-April 2013 (Sunday).
2. Conducted by CBSE with representatives of IIT and other centrally-funded institutes on board.
Ending months of speculation, the entrance for the undergraduate engineering courses (JEE-Mains 2013) under the new format will be conducted on April 7, 2013 (Sunday).
The Joint Admission Board (JAB) of IIT in its meeting on Monday (27-August 2012) is understood to have approved the JEE Mains entrance test on April 7, 2013 which was decided by other stakeholders including CBSE, Centrally funded technical institutes and representatives of IITs.
The JEE Mains will be held on April 7, 2013 and will be conducted by the CBSE with representatives from IIT and other Centrally Funded institutes on board. The JAB and JIC will also coordinate with the organising body responsible for conducting the JEE Main.
Candidates who want to appear for JEE Advance will be required to appear in a screening test first to be conducted by the CBSE as JEE Mains. The new format was announced in June 2012 after the HRD Ministry’s proposal of One Nation One Test announced in May 2012 was dragged into controversy.
