JEE-Main 2015: Score Calculation Criteria for B.Tech/B.Arch

Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) (Main) for the session 2015 is scheduled to be held on April 4 (offline) and April 10 and 11 (online). JEE Main 2015 will have two papers: Paper 1 (BE/B.Tech) and Paper 2 (B.Arch/B.Planning). Candidates may choose either of the two or both as per the courses, they are seeking admission for.

For calculation of percentile and normalization of the score, subjects such as Language, Physics, Mathematics, any one of these Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Technical Vocational Subject) or any other subject will be considered.

On the basis of JEE Main 2015 score and normalized score in Class 12 or equivalent qualifying exam (60 per cent marks and 40 weightage respectively), the candidates will be short listed. Only the All India Rank (AIR) is used for admissions through Central Seat Allocation Board to NITs/IIITs/CFTIs/SFIs/others, while other ranks are for information purposes.

Candidates should also note that no score/rank card will be dispatched to them. The score card/rank will be published on the official website and can be downloaded from there.

The admit cards for JEE (Main) have already been published and can be fetched from the official website. Candidates should carry the admit cards along with them to the exam hall, failing which they will not be allowed to appear for the test.

JEE Main 2015: Documents to Carry in Exam Hall on 04-April

The Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Main for the session 2015 is scheduled to be conducted on April 4 (pen and paper mode) and April 10 and 11 (online mode) by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).

The candidates are required to carry certain documents with them to the exam hall, the list for which is:

1. Candidates who are appearing for their Class 12 board exams this year are required to carry their hall ticket for intermediate exam to the JEE Main exam too.

2. Candidates, who have passed their Class 12 exams in 2013 or 2014 and are not appearing for improvement exams in 2015 are required to carry a copy of their intermediate marks sheet to the examination centre.

3. Candidates who have passed the intermediate exam in 2013 and 2014 and have opted for 'Improvement of Performance' exam in 2015 are required to carry their hall ticket for 2015 intermediate improvement exam to the JEE Main examination centre.

Different set of question papers will be distributed on different dates. According to Executive Director, Joint Admission Board (JAB), "Subject experts for question papers have ensured that entire syllabus is covered in the question paper and equal number of questions has been picked from each unit. It has also been ensured the percentage of easy, moderate and difficult questions is same across different sets of question papers."

JEE Main exam will be bifurcated into two parts- Paper 1 for admission to BE and B.Tech courses, and Paper 2 for admission to B.Arch and B.Planning courses. Paper 1 will have objective-type questions with equal weightage to Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Paper 2 will have objective-type questions in Mathematics as well as questions to test candidates' aptitude and drawing.
