MHT-CET 2016 conducted by DTE-Its Eligibility-Syllabus

The MHT-CET 2016 will be conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) Maharashtra. It has been confirmed that the exam will be computer based for the academic year 2016-17. The exam is conducted for admissions into B.E./B.Tech programmes in various professional educational institutions.

DTE Maharashtra will tentatively conduct MHT-CET 2016 for first year B.E/B. Tech programmes in May 2016. The application forms for the same will tentatively be available by February 2016 fourth week. Those who have cleared Class 12 or equivalent and want to pursue undergraduate programmes in Maharashtra engineering colleges, can apply for MHT-CET 2016.

MHT-CET 2016 Eligibility criteria:

MHT-CET 2016 Educational qualification: The candidates interested in applying for this exam should have passed Class 12 from any recognised board or equivalent in India. They should have obtained a minimum aggregate of 50 percent marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (45 percent for SC/ST/OBC candidates). The candidates of Maharashtra must have obtained a positive composite score (Combination of JEE Main 2015 and Boards Marks).

MHT-CET 2016 Syllabus:

Chemistry Syllabus:Atomic Structure, Chemical Bonding, Redox Reactions, Acid -Base concepts, Electrochemistry , Catalysis, Colloids , Periodic Table, Preparation and Properties of the following, Thermo chemistry , General Organic chemistry, Isomerism, IU PAC, Polymers , Carbohydrates, Preparation and properties, Solid state, Petroleum.

Physics Syllabus: Measurement Motion in one dimension, Laws of motion in two dimensions, work Power and energy linear momentum & collisions, Gravitation, Oscillatory motion, Mechanics of solids and fluids, Heat and thermodynamics wave, Electrostatics , current electricity ,Magnetic in matter, electromagnetic induction, Ray optics and optical wave, optics modern physics.

Mathematics syllabus: Algebra, Probability, Trigonometry, co-ordinate Geometry, Calculus, vectors, Dynamics, statics.

About MHT-CET: MHT-CET is a state level medical entrance exam. It is conducted to offer admissions in medical courses such as MBBS, BHMS, BAMS, BUMS, BDS, BPTh, BASLP, BOTh, BP&O and BSc. Nursing.

Eligibility for JEE (Main) 2016 Exam

All the 12th pass students under the various state boards along with the students of CBSE boards, and the students appearing for the exams of 12th class are eligible for JEE Mains examination.

Eligibility is defined in the 2.9 section of the information bullet, according to which:

1. Only those candidates whose date of birth falls on or after October 01, 1991 are eligible. However, in the case of Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) candidates, upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years, i.e. SC, ST and PwD candidates who are born on or after October 01, 1986 are eligible.

2. So if you fall in the reserved category and born after the year 1986, Mahatama Gandhi’s birthday anniversary. Then you are eligible for JEE Exams otherwise you should have to be born only and after the year 1991. Roughly candidates of 25 years or less age can participate for examinations.

3. Those candidates who have passed their Class 12th Exam or any equivalent qualifying examination in 2014 or 2015; or those who are appearing in their Class 12th Exam or any equivalent qualifying examination in 2016 are eligible to appear in JEE (Main) – 2016.

4. Candidates who passed Class 12th/Qualifying examination in 2013 or before as well as those who will appear in such examination in 2017 or later are not eligible to appear in JEE (Main) – 2016. Candidates who appeared in class 12th/equivalent qualifying Examinations in 2013, did not pass in 2013, but passed in 2014 are also not eligible to appear in JEE (Main) 2016.

5. Candidates must have taken at least five subjects in class 12th/ qualifying examination in order to be eligible for writing JEE (Main) – 2016. All the CBSE Science Stream students are eligible for the examinations.

Apply for Jee-Main 2016 on jeemain.nic.in from 01-Dec

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the official notification of JEE Mains. The online registration will commence from December 1, 2015 and the last date for the registration is December. To check the official website, click here.

The JEE (Main) paper I and paper II offline exam will be conducted on Sunday, April 03, 2016 and paper I online exam will be held on Saturday, April 09, 2016 and Sunday, April 10, 2016.

Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) is an all India common engineering entrance examination which is conducted for admission in various engineering colleges and courses all over the country. Those candidates who are looking for admissions into undergraduate programmes BE, B. Tech, B Arch in NITs, IIITs, other centrally funded technical institutions, institutions funded by several participating State Governments, and several other institutions can apply for the exam.

Step 6: Pay examination fee by debit/credit card or e-challan (generated after submission of details in online application form).
Step 7: Download acknowledgement slip and keep the same in safe custody for future reference.

NIT Admissions likely on JEE-Main Scores alone from 2016

A final decision on the issue could come early next month when HRD Minister Smriti Irani chairs a meeting of the NIT council.

Admissions to the NITs from next year could be based entirely on JEE-Main scores, with a government-appointed panel likely to recommend scrapping of weightage given to marks obtained in board examinations.

“We would be recommending scrapping of weightages given to board marks,” Director of IIT Bombay and a member of the panel, Devang Khakhar, has said.

A final decision on the issue could come early next month when HRD Minister Smriti Irani chairs a meeting of the NIT council, which would take a call on the committee’s recommendations.

As per the existing policy, 40 per cent weightage is given to board marks and 60 per cent to the JEE-Main score for admission to a National Institute of Technolgy (NITs).

Official sources said the committee took into account several factors while deciding on its recommendations that included delays witnessed this year in the common counselling for admissions to the IITs and NITs.

The CBSE had failed to publish the JEE-Main ranking list on time for the counselling and blamed it on the delay by the state boards in submitting class XII marks. The ranks are decided after giving weightage to the class XII results.

The delay had a cascading effect that led to the postponement of admissions to the IITs, causing anxiety among students and parents.

A committee member said the reform in the JEE exams introduced by the erstwhile UPA government by giving weightage to the board results had failed to achieve the desired goals.

“It was felt that the reform would put an end to the menace of coaching, but on the contrary, more students went for coaching to better their scores in board exams.

“Besides, attracting increased number of rural students into the premier technical institutes met with little success as the admission (rural:urban) ratio during the last three years remained practically unchanged at 30:70,” he said.

While recommending scrapping of the weightage system, the panel is likely to suggest securing 60 per cent marks or 70 percentile in class XII, whichever is lower, as a criteria for eligibility of a candidate to appear for the examination conducted for admissions to the premier technical institutes.

Check Jee Main Results 2015 to Know JEE Main Rank

Ending the anxiety of students, CBSE late on Tuesday night announced the JEE (main) ranks for paper-1 and paper-2, thus initiating the process of admissions to IITs, NITs and IIITs.

The delay in the announcement has led to the postponement of admission to IITs and NITs, raising anxiety among students. "The all India ranks of JEE main 2015 have been declared by CBSE and the data CD has been handed over to the central seat allocation board 2015 (NIT Patna) for counselling purpose."

The process of allotment of seat to the JEE (main) meritorious students for 2015-15 will be facilitated by NIT Patna. The joint seat allocation process for admissions to IITs and NITs had to be postponed twice, increasing the agony of over 11 lakh students who are eligible for counselling to 85 technical institutes including 18 IITs and 31 NITs.

According to the Joint Seat Allocation Authority 2015, registration and filling in of choices in their portal can begin at least two to three hours after CBSE announces the ranks. "The announcement of the all-India ranks were delayed due to failure of six-seven school board to furnish the particulars and weightage of the individual students. Although they were asked to submit the details by June 25, they could not do so which led to the delay in releasing the ranking list," officials in CBSE said earlier this evening.

However, they added since the particulars have been received from the state, CBSE is in the process of finalising the list. As per the revised schedule, online registration and choices of seats would continue up to July 3 and the first round of seat allocation would be declared on July 5. The joint seat allocation process was to start on June 25, as per the original schedule.

"The candidate may see their result on the website www.jeemain.nic.in and cbseresults.nic.in after 12 noon," CBSE said in statement released on Tuesday night.
