JEE-Advanced 2013 Exam Date Declared on 2-June 2013 (Sunday)

IMP Points of JEE-Advanced 2013 Exam:

1. JEE-Advanced Exam Date: 2-June 2013 (Sunday).
2. Conducted by Joint Admission Board (JAB) and Joint Implementation Committee (JIC) with the same composition as at present.

Ending months of speculation, the entrance for the undergraduate engineering exam (JEE-Advanced 2013) in IITs under the new format will be conducted on June 2, 2013.

The Joint Admission Board (JAB) of IIT in its meeting on Monday (27-August 2012) is understood to have approved the JEE Advanced entrance test date on June 2. HRD Ministry sources confirmed that the IIT- JAB has decided to hold the IIT-Advanced, which will book a seat in an IIT, on June 2, 2013.

JAB sources said there will be two shifts of the Advanced exam just like the pattern followed for the JEE 2012 and all the question from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics will be a mix of subjective and objective in nature and the duration of each paper will be of three hours. There will be only 1, 50,000 students to take the entrance test for IITs in 2013.

The JEE-Advanced 2013 examination will be conducted by JAB and Joint Implementation Committee (JIC) with the same composition as at present. Only such students who appear in the Advance JEE exam would be eligible to take admission in IITs, IT BHU and ISM Dhanbad. Students who will qualify in the screening test (i.e. Jee-Mains) will only be able to sit in the Advance JEE subjected they fall within the percentile formula.

The scores of the rest candidates who do not make it into IITs will be applicable for NITs, IIITs, and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutes (CFTIs).
